Health and Fitness Motivation and Inspiration! Juggling Priorities! The Ball You Should Never Drop!

Ryan Fraser asked:

Doo-doo-doodloodl-doo-doo-doo-dooo! That's circus music and you are the juggler!!! You constantly juggle all of the aspects that make a life. Let's say those aspects are Health-Family-Business-Finance-Social-Intellectual-spiritual. Doo-doo-doodloodl-doo-doo-doo-dooo - you have to find time for all of those to lead a balanced life.

Spiritual aspects could be as simple as having a purpose to your day or you could even find a higher purpose. Intellectual aspects include learning and personal growth. Financial aspects give you the tools to do and have things. Business/career is a necessity for money and contribution. Family and partners need time and attention too - relationships are important! And without your health and fitness you are sick or dead!!! That is a lot of balls to juggle - maybe they need to be prioritised?

Which one of these aspects - do you think - can have the most impact on all of the others?!? If your philosophy or religion turns out to be misguided can you choose another? If you don't learn for a year can you learn next year? If you lose all of your money - can you earn some more? If you lose your job or business can you get another? If you lose your HEALTH AND FITNESS can you get another body?!?! NO! AND YES! WE'VE FOUND IT!

The one aspect that has a direct and positive effect on all of the other aspects and the one aspect of your life that you cannot replace if you lose it is YOUR HEALTH AND FITNESS!!!!!! If we lose our health and fitness we become sick, impaired or dead. If we are lucky and ACT before it goes too far we can get it back - BUT WE HAVE TO MAKE IT A PRIORITY! Why not make it a priority before it becomes one!?

Considering the implications of dropping the health and fitness ball I'd make sure that my juggling routine makes health and fitness the first and foremost thing that I focus on and care for. Without you have no life!

Next time you find yourself in a juggling routine - think of which ball you should never drop!

Kids Soccer Drills – Learning to Juggle

Jim Smoot asked:

As a soccer coach you should always be on the lookout for kids soccer drills that not only teach players valuable skills, but that they want to learn. Juggling the soccer ball is one of those drills.

If you have watched older youth soccer players, you have probably noticed them standing on the sidelines effortlessly bouncing the ball from one foot to the other, occasionally bouncing the ball off of their thigh or head, then back down to their feet. Many of them will bounce the ball in the air continuously with the ball never touching the ground. In soccer terms, this is called juggling.

Although this kids soccer drill is not one that youth soccer player really enjoy trying to learn, with a little effort it is not very difficult to master. Once the players have learned how to do it, they really enjoy being able to show off their juggling skills.

There are several benefits to learning to juggle a soccer ball. First and foremost is that it gives your players a lot of touches on the ball. The more times a player can touch the ball, the more comfortable and confident they will be during a game.

As players become better at juggling they learn to have a better first touch. They learn to soften their touch on the ball in order to get it to go where they want it to go. They learn not to hit the ball too hard or too softly. They also learn how to position their bodies in order to control the direction of the ball.

Learning to juggle is not difficult; it just takes time and repetition. It begins with simply holding the ball out in front of you between your two hands. Start by holding the ball about waist high. Drop the ball try to gently kick the ball back into your hands. Use your dominant foot to begin with, and when you reach a point where you can get the ball back to your hands consistently start using your other foot. As you become more comfortable, start holding the ball higher and bouncing the ball off of your thighs.

The next step is to drop the ball, gently kick the ball back toward your hands, but instead of catching the ball, allow it to fall back toward your foot and kick it a second time. As you get more comfortable, try to increase the number of times you kick the ball back in the air. You should also begin switching from one foot to the other. You should also work at alternating between using your feet, suing your thighs, and going back to your feet.

If the ball does happen to hit the ground, but it bounces back up in front of you, get a foot back on the ball. The more you practice, the less the ball will hit the ground and the longer you will be able to juggle without the ball getting away from you.

One tip that is helpful for players just learning to juggle is to stand in front of a wall or in front of the net when practicing. The ball will get away from kids that are just learning, and having something in front of them will make it easier to retrieve the ball.

This is a great kids soccer drill for your players to use as a warm up. It gets them concentrating on the ball, it warms up their quads, and it gets them on their toes ready to react. They may not enjoy the frustrations of trying to learn to juggle, but once they learn it is a skill that they will always be glad that they know.

Soccer Juggling Skills

Rickard Sjolander asked:

There are SOOO many good footballers out there, in the best clubs of today it doesn't really matter if your star is getting injured, there is always a replacement on the bench who doesn't want anything more then show that he's worthy a spot in the team. Every day that passes by there are new talents and new guys are achieving their dreams. In this football mania there is a little group of guys who posses insane juggling tricks, tricks that most people have not seen. My experience is that people who love football, they also love soccer juggling tricks. This kind of juggling is also known as "football freestyle"

The focus that is on soccer is so big that the freestylers doesn't get their proper attention, but all the time the freestylers are struggling to make the art more and more famous. What the best freestylers can do is pure madness, if you see one of the best you will really be impressed.

Some freestylers have reached some individual success but what they really want is to put the art of football freestyle in the spotlight. Make it recognized all over the world everywhere. I believe that freestyle will be big... with the right marketing and attention etc.

If you put a random guy against a soccer pro you will see that some people actually has a chance against them, but if you put a random guy against a freestyle pro, they will not have a chance. My point is, that what these guys can do is so unique and so amazing that they deserve more respect.

Hopefully football freestyle will grow with football, people will connect football freestyle and regular soccer in a way they don't do today. I also want to mention that freestyle and soccer is two completely different things. Just because you're a good freestyler it doesn't mean you can play soccer and vice versa!

Football Juggling Tricks

Mark Coolio asked:

Football juggling tricks...the official name of today for this is called "Football Freestyle". Freestyle is all about skills while having the ball in the air. People have always been fascinated about juggling skills. In the 90's some people took this to a higher level. Juggling with all parts of your body, juggling while sitting and even when you're lying down.

When of the pioneers of this "circus" style was Mr.Woo. A very famous freestyler who used to play professional football. He wanted to take juggling skills to a new level. Mr.Woo could do things with a football no one else could do. He worked with many professional football players making commercials. He also worked with many big companies, not only football related companies. Freestyle attracts attention so people wanted to see more and more.

In the beginning of the 21st century there was a new era of freestyle born, it was later to be called "the air moves era". People started to do tricks with their feet spinning around the ball. One of the first air freestylers out there was Soufiane Touzani. This guy released a freestyle video back in the days which got a lot of people in to freestyle.

Palle, a guy from Sweden took freestyle to another level around 2005. His skills belong to the air moves section but he started to do no touch tricks. No touch tricks basically is when you do one trick and then you go straight in to another trick without a touch in between. This was something that had not been seen before and it got very popular. This variation of air moves is very hard but some people master the art of no touch tricks.

This is pretty much were freestyle is 2007. Sometime soon there might come new people who will break the boundary's of freestyle and create a new era of freestyling. Only the future can tell!

Easy Ways to Sustain Fitness in Men

Hamza Ejaz asked:

There are many ways to manage sustaining the fitness in men. While most of the men are trying to juggle their responsibilities of the daily life between the work demands and the personal life, they need to find sometime for themselves to reinvigorate their energies and incorporate healthy habits into their lives. This is essential as all other things fall secondary when compared to their health and they will be able to carry out their responsibilities only if they are healthy. It is important for a man to strengthen his social life and bonding with friends and family. This will not only help them in sharing their thoughts and feelings, but, will also help in reducing the stress levels at the same time. Invite a friend for a game of cards or crosswords, to sharpen the cognitive abilities and enjoy the company of a loved one at the same time. Such activities have been known to provide a healthy break from the chaotic regimes of the daily life.

Try to read books in the evening or the night to relax and regulate the nerves. Most of the men find reading a book an ideal hobby before they hit the sack. A study has revealed that one should open their windows in the evening to let the fresh air come in. This also helps in alleviating the mood for many. The reason explained by the modern studies is that the ions released by the electrical items need to be neutralized by the ions of the fresh air. Thus, after returning from work, make sure that you open your windows to welcome freshness into your room.

Most of the men in the recent times are trying to avoid the sun. However, those who are health conscious and concerned about their wellbeing use the sun as a free source of Vitamin D, which helps in nourishing the bones and is vital for the development of teeth as well. But, do not forget to apply sunscreen when basking in the sun. One of the effective ways to reduce stress is by singing. The breathing control during singing allows the individuals to release their tension in the process and alleviates their moods as well. Next time when at the formal dinners avoid wines and drinks for a glass of water. This will not only curb the chances of staining the teeth from the dark cocktails, but, will also help in keeping the teeth well hydrated, making it difficult for the bacteria to stick to the teeth and damage them.

How to Juggle a Soccer Ball

Laurence Girard asked:

If you are a youth soccer player then you may be trying to learn how to juggle a soccer ball. Juggling a ball is actually a lot easier than you might think. All it takes is a little bit of focus and concentration on your part. One of the biggest mistakes that youth soccer players make when juggling is that they hit the ball high up into the air. When juggling a ball you actually want to keep the ball as low to the ground as possible. By keeping the ball as low to the ground as possible you will be making it much easier for yourself to keep control of the ball.

When trying to learn how to juggle a soccer ball it is also extremely important for you to remain calm. A large number of youth soccer players become nervous or frantic when trying to juggle a ball in front of people. This is counter productive to the overall goal of successfully juggling the ball. To juggle a soccer ball successfully you must remain calm, keep the ball low to the ground, and have a light touch.

Either way, if you truly want to learn how to juggle a soccer ball then you will just need to practice. Juggling the ball is the most basic form of touch. If you can master juggling t he ball then you should become a good dribbler in no time at all! Just remember the most important thing is to keep practicing.

Juggling a Soccer Ball – How to Improve Your Skills

Mirsad Hasic asked:

In this article we will take a look on what you can do to improve your juggling skills in soccer.

Patience - It is important to have patience while practicing on your juggling skills. You can't expect to become good at juggling in few weeks. This is something that takes time and the more effort you put in, the more you will get back. What I am trying to say is that you need to see every day as a chance to increase your juggling skills.

Practice often -I would recommend you to practice on your juggling at least 30 min per day. After few weeks or so you will notice that you juggling skills have increased by several levels.

Use a small ball - This one is great for your overall soccer skills and not only for juggling. I can admit that juggling with a small ball is not that easy as with a regular one. However, I can ensure you that after juggling with a small ball for 20 min or so you can try change to the regular one. What you will notice is that the regular ball suddenly feels clumsy and too big for your feet. It will also become easier to keep the ball in the air for longer time.

Keep you focus on the ball - While juggling, don't lose focus on the ball. Try to shut down everything around you and just concentrate on keeping the ball in air. This is not so easy to do if you are new to soccer, however after a while it will become natural.

Try to break your record - Each time you practice on your juggling skills you should try to break your record. Never get satisfied just because you have managed to keep the ball in the air for 5 min or so. Instead encourage yourself to increase your time to 6 min and so on. My point is that you should always try to improve your juggling skills.

Relax - One of the most important things in juggling is to keep your body relaxed. The more relaxed you are the better juggling skills.

Soccer Drills – Juggling Secrets Revealed

Andre Botelho asked:

Let's understand it! All soccer drills call for an all-inclusive session on juggling in order for them to achieve results. It is essential that each soccer player gets trained on this basic skill of the game. Both senior players and beginners get to benefit from this activity. Related soccer exercises involve the use of player's feet, thighs, and head to deal with the ball. As a warm-up activity, its usefulness can be gauged from the fact that only after 10 minutes of juggling, the players feel their heart rate increasing and the muscles also become warm enough.

Players get to find out the skill of controlling the ball along with the close ball skills by using juggling. They tend to develop a good judgment of control and maneuvering of the ball in the midst of an opposition attack. Lastly, they build up a lot of confidence by way of juggling that allows them to settle down with the ball (the main characteristic necessary for a successful attack). Throughout soccer practice, players get a chance to develop their special styles of juggling by practicing it separately. Some of the following tips will be useful to you as a coach.

Train the players in using the crown of their foot or the laces to juggle with their foot. The legs must be sufficiently relaxed and the foot bent when it makes contact with the ball. Instruct them to hold the arms out a little so that they can maintain balance. When using the thighs to juggle, teach them to bring the knee up so that the upper leg is horizontal. Help them identify the fact that ball needs to come into contact with the top of the thigh. It is crucial that the body is bent backwards a little and the arms pulled out straight so that balance is maintained.

To juggle with the head is a difficult thing to accomplish for the kids. But, during the soccer drills, they must practice it at all costs. It is required of the players to review the correct angle so that the forehead is brought in contact with the ball. They should hold the head sufficiently higher so that the eyes face the sky. The legs should be twisted and get straight up every time the ball makes a contact with the ball. In addition to this soccer training, motivate the players to use their shoulders, outside of the heels, and the back of the neck as well. In certain unforeseen circumstances, it becomes vital to use these contact points. The young players should enjoy feeling the ball on their laces because this is the area that they will use the most to shoot the ball.

To conclude, it is important to highlight the factors of rhythm and balance. These are helpful in juggling the ball and therefore must be practiced. Coach the players to calm down and judge the movement of the ball. With practice, they will be able to do it and perfect the art of juggling. Now get to the field and show your players some juggling soccer drills. Our youth soccer coaching community is a treasure house of articles, tips and videos on juggling.
